i have a 2005 G35 6MT.. i am getting a new motor installed due to oil consumption and i decided to order a JWT clutch/flywheel combo while the motor was out... riverside infiniti has had my ride since tuesday... today they called me and told me that there is a problem with the pressure plate or something.. it's too small or something.. what they said..
anyhow.. the car won't shift... and my car is currently on the rack... i spoke to COZ at concept Z , where i bought it, and they told me that it is unlikely that i got any wrong parts... but.. it could happen i guess.
i spoke with JWT and they are goin to call riverside infiniti first thing to talk to their tech to try and resolve the issue...
the tech said that the throwout bearing wasn't lining up..? and that the pressure plate seemed small.. and also that the 2003 and 2004 clutch/pressure plate is different than an 05 so they think COZ gave me an 03-04.. COZ says they're all the same except the 03 has a different pivot ball than every other year...
i am no mechanic and i am just relaying this info on the forum..
has anyone had any problems with the car not shifting after an install... any suggestions....?
thankx in advance...!

OMG..!! found out the problem.. Just to let everyone know..
if you do the DIY clutch adjustment.. and get a new clutch later... you may need to back up the adjustment and make it stock height again..
the JWT clutch/flywheel combo is what i got..
i have read that after getting the clutch, people with stock clutch engagement,( that means never adjusting it), have a better clutch feel/and it engages at a lower point, unlike stock, where clutch engagement is really high....
so... since i did the adjustment before getting the clutch.. it already engaged at a lower point..
so when the new clutch went in.. the clutch pedal wasn't able to go all down due to the DIY adjustment i had done..
i went to the dealer today to find out why exactly was the problem and Tony at Riverside Infiniti told me the clutch wouldn't go all the way down.. i informed him that i did the DIY and that was the problem..
Tony AND the Tech both told me that Infiniti is never suppose to adjust the pedal.. if there is a problem with the pedal, they just replace the whole thing..
anyway.. after i told them, my car was fixed in 5min..
I hope this makes sense..!
sux ... they dropped my tranny 3x.... but now i have it back...
Thankx Tony....

so true... seriously.. i fuct up... my car drove perfect before so i thought it had to be the new parts, so did the tech.... the conversation i had with the SA was on the phone.. i went there in the morning... 40miles away... and wanted to hear from the tech himself what the problem was... after i heard.. i then knew pretty much what it was...
