Default Clutch adjustment

Went in and read the service manual on the clutch pedal. Read it twice and checked again. Upon inspection, I noticed a discrepancy....

http://www.*********.com/zwiki/Clutch_Adjustment

sometimes that wiki thing works and other times it returns some database error which sucks. anyways in the service manual under clutch adjustment it (CL.pdf pg. 5) has a picture of the clutch pedal and a Clearance C that is suppose to be there.

Well I don't have any visible clearance at all.

Clevis pin floats freely when the clutch pedal is not pressed in.

The reason for the inspection is that I feel the clutch isn't properly engaging. I may be mental. It seems I have to push the pedal all the way down to the floor.

i was thinking of loosening the bolt to the ascd switch and moving that back away from the pedal stopper rubber, providing the clearance C gap and maybe fixing the engagement problem at the same time.

bad idea?
any ideas?

I think you're looking at it wrong. The clearance measurement is for the clutch interlock switch, not for the ASCD switch. It might be easier to understand if you look at the exploded parts diagram on page 6.

Your link doesn't work, btw.

Yeah, the service manual doesn't really help in this case. Just read through this thread and follow the instructions within:
