Keep DE go HR or go SR?
I can't seem to decide which way to go. I'm having a lot of fun with my 05 touring but I'm starting to want more HP. I gained 21 WHP from a recent Osiris tune w/ bolt-ons (241RWHP) but I at least want to be above 250WHP and eventually reach 300HP.
I'm reading about HR owners getting 260+ HP with simple bolt-ons...!
I'm leaning more towards the SR20 swap to be honest. I'm sure it would be cheaper than buying $1K HR parts or DE .
Can I get some opinions please?

- I don't mind buying a 07+ HR Z but at the same time that's an expensive project car!

- I can build my DE to 260+ HP but for the money I spend I might as well buy a 07 Z!

- I can buy a s15 SR20 black top and achieve 260+ whp with a lighter engine and larger aftermarket turbo.

I don't want to go F/I with my DE and if I did go FI then I would go with the SR swap for easier tunability and aftermarket support...
can't make up my @#$^ing mind...
That's surprising to hear about the engine bay. That wide Z bay should be able to hold a SR or RB. Anyways, I would probably stroke the SR20 to 2.2 but regardless of the engine I have (DE, HR, or SR) I'm going to buy Tomei Powered products for it.
I am not saying that it won't fit, but I just thought I would make it a point of attention since so few have made the swap. 300whp will be tough. You can get there on a light N/A build with a DE. 300whp on Dave's dyno might be another story though. That'll be tough.

Ironically, I don't want to buy a LS engine but after looking at the turbo solutions - Greddy for example - I would be paying over $6K!
How much was your TT setup Viva?

save for FI man, there was a guy who posted on here not to long ago that posted pics of his build and that took him years!
my build was well over 6k+ but less than 10k. im nothing compared to other members who have wayyyyyy more power than me. if I learned anything from these guys is, no tune is reliable, especially on a daily driver.

I'm getting more and more convinced to stick with my DE. Good thread, thanks everyone.
Having a DD is always advised if you go FI in my book. People go 20000+ miles with no issues others go 20........it is always nice to have a "safety" car is something goes wrong.
