So you're telling me that if the Dyno SEEMS high to you then it's not accurate and only Dyno's with 230 numbers are realistic? I beg to differ. I ran mine on a Dyno that I KNOW was tuned at LEAST every 90 days. My numbers are also SAE, yours appear to be ACTUAL. There are way too many varients to simply state that a high dyno is unrealistic and simply can't be accurate.
All that matters is you dyno MORE after mods than you do before mods.

I don't mean to flame you but there seems to be a wide range of stock dyno numbers on the Z. I've seen as low as 232 and as high as 251 RWHP. You can't really use any of those to compare your dyno with.

But if it sounds cool, who cares?
from this thread I have learned that it makes no difference to dyno your car or put mods on it rite?
because every car is diferent..
for all we know there is a 15 year old kid who just got his learners permit and a new Z for his birthday and his z is pulling 400RWHP bone stock! cuz he dyno'ed it on GT3

"all im sayin is this is what my car dyno'ed... dont care bout anything else really... "
No, what you were saying was this:
"I was shocked to see the gains just from the exaust (sic)."
THIS is the statement we are commenting on. You can't say that you saw ANY gains from your exhaust since you don't have a dyno BEFORE you put it on. That's all.

I know Konverter, and was there at So Cal Dyno day, I think what Konverter meant was, he was very happy with his numbers having spent as little as he had to get there at this point. 244 HP is huge considering Jeffs got at least half another car invested,to get 24 more HP not to mention the time.
The numbers we posted were for referance only, Where you" might" be give or take few horses or at least for the 9 owners, it's where were at, for the moment. To get more or refine will take dollars and time We'll all know more after So Cal Dyno Day 2 "Revenge of the unresolved".
BTW I'm 54 and I've got $10.000 over and above the car invested. $44K at this moment. I'm not a racer just want a nice show car, Most people just love the looks and I get people commenting how great it looks, all the time and thats what counts for me.
Racers & G35 people hate it and will hate it even more when I put Lambo doors in it.

everyone knows that no 2 dynos are alike and no 2 days are alike, no 2 locations are alike, etc... The purpose of dynoes is quantifying gains between mods and to tune cars. Not racing numbers... peak power per se is meaningless... if a serious race team trully wants to know engine power it will use a crankshaft dyno...
personally someone who talks about "gains" without a baseline blows my mind... this whole thread blows my mind...

bur sorry, keep racing...

I have'nt seen any of the 9 guys talk about gains (except Jeff and Khang but they have Baseline #of 232 and 233.) All we said is this is where were at. Its a referance Number, Take it or get your own.
Better still get your own 10 guys to get together and cough up $75ea list, document and post there #.
I thought so!!!! A little graditude not fumes are in line,,,," cyberfumers"

What was the air temp when it was dyno'd?
When you want to compare one run vs another then having having on a known standard it show a true change. Without that then air temp could account for a large change in the ACTUAL numbers. I think roughly it's 1% HP change for every 10 degrees of air temp. On a Z that what about 2.3rwhp, going from 90 to 60 would account for about 6 or 7 rwhp increase. Most of us would like to see a change like that. But it's not a real change as soon as the temp goes back up readings will decrease. So if the car is dyno'd next summer it won't show as much of a change or even show a loss of rwhp/tq. So know one really knows what the mod did, not the owner or the board. So the thread could read, "I added XYZ and lost HP/TQ
"
My guess is that Actual is the higher of the two numbers and that is why they were printed out.
