Default Dual mass flywheel vs single

Ok I have an act streetlite flywheel waiting to be installed but everytime time I inquire about having it Installed I get the same answer it won't work because the duel mass flywheel is about 1/2 inch thicker than the street lite. So how does the streetlite flywheel engage with the clutch if there's is 1/2inch difference. What needs to be adjusted add ect.... To get it to work or is it a direct bolt on despite the difference?

it will work, you just have to adjust the pedal.

First of all; Is the flywheel is specific for your car? If so, this is from the "ACT Clutch installation Instruction". Check your repair manual on how to adjust your clutch pedal or do a search on the forum on how to adjust it.

2: Release Point Adjustment - Hydraulic System
On some applications the engagement point may be closer to the floor. In most
cases, a small adjustment of the clutch master cylinder push rod will cure the
problem. This adjustment is made by screwing the push rod farther into the
master cylinder to allow it to actuate the cylinder sooner. Never preload the
master cylinder. You may also desire to increase pedal travel by adjusting the
pedal stop (when equipped). Most repair manuals include instructions and
adjustment specifications. After market clutch pedals, floor mats or carpet
may hinder full pedal travel.
