I don't have my owner's manual handy, but is "servicing" the axle shafts listed in any of the required service routines (i.e. at 20,000 miles, 50,000, etc.)? If not, then it's not a "service", but a "repair".

Exact same thing happened to me a week and a half ago. I contacted nissan and their answer was "it may or may not be covered under warranty" WTF does that mean?

Honestly i'm probably never going to see that 200 bucks again, but i will never take my car back there either. Their loss. 06 nissan just coming off of warranty....its going to start needing work on a fairly regular basis, that money will just have to go to someone else.

NNA doesn't care in my experience. Take your business to another dealer if you feel you were "cheated".

It's arguable whether it's part of the powertrain. Anyways that's why there is "goodwill" repairs, but it depends on the dealer and your relationship with them.
