Default Cracks or just Casting marks on engine?

This picture is taken directly above the flywheel where I assume is one of the cyclinder walls. In the middle and on the sides, are those cracks or just casting marks? Anyone ever seen this?

Edit: I think its casting marks because I sanded a few of them with some sandpaper and they went away and where I sanded is shiny now...

If you're really worried about it, clean it up, and get a dye penetrant kit to check it out.

Before spending much money on it, you could polish it a little to see if the appearance of cracking is deeper than the surface.

Really man, its nothing to worry about. Cast aluminum looks like that. And yes, I've seen my engine block from just about every angle possible

look at it this way. if you had cracks that traveled all the way from the cylinder wall to the outside of the block, your engine would have exploded by now.
