New member - potential Z owner - Got boost?
Hello all - new guy here.
Im considering a couple different cars for a new daily/semi-daily driver - the Z is on the list.
What Im most concerned with is power. Lately, the looks of the Z have really grown on me but I think the engine is somewhat lacking in stock form considering the cars weight.
Ive been lurking here and I see a TT/I offering from Greddy - are there any other kits available? Any dyno charts?
And most importantly - any members here mount a blower of any type on their Z? How is it holding up? Any negative effects? Recomendations? Etc?
Appreciate your time - there are some absolutely beautiful cars on this site.

I'm really interested in the DreamWorkes SC. It should be out sometime next month and claims to be making about 400hp with a 5.5 lb pulley. They claim the kit will be good up to 12 psi, provided you build up your engine. Also comes with a waranty. The Stillen SC is out now and is also an Eaton blower, one of the members here has a kit @ 7psi (instead of the stock 5.6 (I think)) and he says it has plenty of power.
Also, check out the next publication of Sport Z magazine, it will have a comparison between the ATI, Vortech and PE offerings (did I leave any out?)

A 3200 lb car with 287hp, hmmm doesn't seem lacking to me. What cars are you comparing it to?

Bad choice of words perhaps - dont take it personally as an attack on the car.
Dispite the fact that the power/weight ratio is acceptable, the car still doesnt accelerate very quickly for other reasons - gearing, etc.
The 95 OBD1 and 96-99 OBD2 E36 M3's for example with 'only' 240 HP and a comparable weight accelrate quicker.
For comparison purposes, the E46 M3 achieves sub 5 second 0-60 times - although at twice the price.
The Z interests me because if I can build a Turbo Z capable of more straight line performance than an M3 for $15K less after mods, thats a pretty good deal, no?
