agreed, it's awful.

Would just polishing my throttle body give me any performance gains? I am saving towards a wedding and a house and paying off debt right now...not in the position to do expensive mods.

The EVO throttle body sounds cool, but could some gains be made with a little elbow grease on my own?

If anyone would like to retain their OEM throttle body check with MW... he is selling a complete throttle body for $800. This is a very good deal for anyone wishing to keep their stock one.
I can take names down for anyone wishing to get the first one we have available.

may be a stupid question but does this make a difference in sound or throttle response/sensitivity?

I haven't noticed any difference in sound. I had it dropped in the same day as the plenum. My headers and underpulley kit went in the next day so I can't fairly answer your second and third questions, as there were too many variables to do so
