Default APEX-i N-1

Here it is for all wondering what it looks like. I was a bit shocked, as this set-up is not the classic N-1 set-up...like what I had on my old 1995 S14 240sx SE. Anyways installed on the vehicle, the resonator is tucked up pretty high, so looking from the rear you can't see it. All that is visible is the dual N-1 canisters. My first impression is..... holy crap, that is sweet, sounds great...the best part is while driving of course. It has a nice DEEP rumble to it, pretty loud for you conservative types. However cruising on the freeway you can barely hear it, which is great...no droning. Here are a few photo's of the exhaust prior to instalation, will post some after photo's when the weather permits for a decent car wash, raining cats & dogs here!

Thanks again STEVE @ HOPUP RACING

HA ha!

He did believe it was true dual. He ordered one just 5 days ago and found out it wasnt when he received it. Its not is fault. He had some on hand but didnt open the box to check.

Personnally I had to have a true dual but now I am not so sure. Anyhow check out the thickness of that piping!!! its gotta be 3 inches!!!!

I heard one of these personally and they sound a little ricey from the outside, but from the driver seat it sounds absolutely gorgeous. Seems to make the engine more responsive. I would reccomend this mod!

That is an interesting arrangment. I guess they did that for noise considerations?

Haven't had a chance to dyno - and as for 8.9 hp - I believe that unless you go forced induction , noticiable hp is hard to distinguish , unless like you said DYNO - "SOME" of the mods out there is just your mind manifesting hp, not that I am stating the 8.9 hp claim is false but it does seem to flow alot better. The engineers for this car really did make it pretty efficient out of the box. As for sounding ricey, what is you definition of "ricey" (not attacking you) - My definition is an exhaust sounding like a tin can with about a 1000 tiny pebbles in it. The APEX-i N-1 has a very aggresive throaty sound to it, a very deep tone. But to each there own. The resonator is placed that way due to the size of it (HUGH). I don't think it would be able to fit in the "normal" place. All in all, a very good mod, especially the price, I have been a long time fan and user of APEX-i products which is why I waited for the release of the N-1. Take care guys and appreciate your feedback.

When I take photo's of the car I will try and make some sound clips. The exisiting sound clips posted on another post/site does not resemble the exhaust at all. Will make a good effort at getting this done when the weather clears up.

Its funny, this kit looks like it was designed in reverse!!

The mufflers look like resonators and the resonator looks like a muffler!

This one sounds like Injen to me. Very nice looking exhaust. How much did it run you? I'm torn between the Stillen and Borla as far as sound. No matter what the butt dyno says, ultimately its the wallet dyno thats going to do the talking . I'm leaning more towards the Borla..

That sound clip was released LONG before the US spec N1 was unveiled. Easy could have quite a different sound.

nd2spd, have you gotten any clips put together just yet?

No need for pics of the car, as we know what a Z looks like!

How about some sound clips... let it idle and then some revving up.

Do you all think that this exhaust will fit a G35 coupe? I believe the only difference is the pipe length, which needs to be lengthened when installing 350z exhausts on a G35.

It's a matter of inches. It definitely won't fit in it's current form and it might be hard to correctly lengthen that midpipe.
