Default Megan Racing Header. Possible Fraud. HELP

So I ordered some megan racing headers through a vendor. What I received in the mail is way different then any pictures I have seen. The design is similar but there are some noticeable differences.

1) The box says "MEGAN EXHAUST" instead of "MEGAN RACING". The address on the box reads

788 Phillips Dr.
City of Industry, CA 91748
Tel: 626-581-0988
Fax: 626-581-8334
www.meganracing.com

2) The branding on the header reads "MEGAN EXHAUST" instead of "MEGAN RACING". The branding is near the lower collector and not on the middle exhaust pipe like the pictures on their side.

3) The build quality is decent but not accurate. The header does not have the bracing like the pictures on their website.

4) The gaskets that came with the header are composite, not metal. The headers are supposed to come with metal gaskets.

I called the number on the box and spoke with a customer service rep. The representative could not verify the authenticity of the product. They verified the vendor i bought them from is a legit distributor. I emailed him some pics, they should get back to me soon. I have also contacted the vendor but have not heard back.

This is picture of the headers right from megans site.

The pictures of what I received in the mail.

Any help or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a joke, right?

It's Megan whatever you want to call it. BEST case scenario, you get a knockoff product with subpar quality that may last your a few years.

Am I out of the loop? When did Megan suddenly become synonymous with "quality"????

Megan knockoff...sounds kinda redundant. Maybe a double negative applies here?

I admit I have megan "racing" headers on my car. The gains from headers in general are all about the same range, so why spend close to a grand on some? I've had them for three years and no issues, plus I bought them when I was a modding noob, e.g. didn't know better than to avoid megan. Would I do it again, no

Anyways,OP mine are jut like the first picture. Get the companies name that you purchased from, call megan and ask if they are allowed to resell their products. It could be possible than you just have a newer version of the product, keep in mind, some changes are not always done for the best.

OP, seriously? Look at the logos, the font is even different.. how would you think they are NOT imposter parts? But again, who cares. Its like worrying you didnt get your XO2 exhaust and got sent Godspeed instead.. same difference.

becuzase they are a b#tch to install and cheap ones are prone to cracking over time, and thats a nasty loud exhaust leak to have.

good ones= ceramic coated internally and externally, fantastic welds, proper scroll direction and legth tubes and collectors.

three is never a substitute for quality, only compromise.
Some poeple are fine w that. That part is not for me to judge.

but why folks buy them at all for an lightly modded NA cars is beyond me. its just another part to add to your cardomain mods list at that point in my opinion.

My issue with the order is that I got something that does not look like the product I should have received. If megan can confirm that it is correct and send me some proof, i will be ok with that.I do not care if you do not approve of the part. Megan racing headers are just re-branded DC Sports. It is the same metal used and same machine doing the welding.

Yup, I agree. Like you said, it is a very difficult and time consuming, might as well buy a part that wont make you suffer again. Op is just suffering like I did in the beginning, with the mod bug biting him. I imagine the money I saved I could use towards a different mod, like Op might be thinking now. But it's a lesson everyone learns.

To tell you the truth, the ones you received look better than the ones on megan's site.

Yeah thats a Fake. Megan Racing is Just like OBX. They have a mixed bag of results on various platforms. I have used OBX and megan on other cars without having any issues. But the vendor you bought it from deff sells fake Megan products.

Return and ask for refund.

Damn, cause I have seen fake stuff but not even on Ebay did I find "fake" Megan.

Thank you for the information. Megan Racing will get back to me on Monday. If it is a fake, I will release the vendors information. I hope they just did a redesign or something.

To clear things up..These are going on my VQ powered S13. I just want the part that I paid for and not some fraud! I could have gone with the $60 pair of ebay headers, but i decided to go with megans because of warranty and higher build quality. Please don't flood this thread with how bad the headers are. I really don't care. Swapping exhaust manifold take no more than 30 minutes when the motor is in an S chassis.
