AT - Driving in Manual Mode Everyday?
I drive my Z in auto shifting everytime i'm in it. I was wondering is it bad for our autos to be driven like that or is it ok?

I've got a 5AT.I use the manual shift option occaisionally.
You are referring to putting your AT Z in the manual mode, right.
I'd think if it would be damaging to the car by driving it in the manual
mode,Nissan would not install this type of transmission.Of course
with any transmission,if you abuse it,you are gonna have problems.
This type of tranny has been around for 50 years or more.Porsche
has had the trip tronic it seems forever. If you are driving your car
most of the time in the manual mode, you may want to look into
geetting it tweaked with a tune. There are adjustments that can be
made to make the shifts quicker and more crisp.I've had these done
to my Z.It basically doubled the shift speed.

+1 Billion! This was one of my top 3 mods. I drive in tiptronic all the time and engine brake a lot on downshifts. With my trans cooler I never see temps over 180F. VB upgrade should also keep the juice cooler as well. The number 1 thing that F-ups 5AT is varnishing from ATF when it gets so hot it breaks down and burns.

Just put it in drive and go, no point to shifting.
What does your husband say about it?

OP, it's not, otherwise as others have mentioned it wouldn't be there in the first place. When you tune your car you'll notice crisper shifts, get a Valve Body upgrade and it'll be even crisper. I would suggest a cooler to lengthen the life of your tranny.

MBA candidates like other grad school students need to do a lot of writing in order to earn a degree. As such they become best friends with their word processing software. They stay loyal to it for a long, long time, refusing all updates that might change the function and feel of their best friend.
Unfortunately when copy and pasting a few paragraphs of text from an older program of Word or other WP the forum software can fail to reassemble the paragraph breaks correctly.
It’s my guess that this is what caused the odd format in Jcity’s post.

I do not think anybody cares about your achievements in life. Doesn't matter how real or fake they are.

Just don't down shift from high revs all the time. Your AT will be good.
I only go for manual mode when doing motorsports events or doing some spirited runs when I need to hold a gear.
Yes, good advise on the AT oil cooler btw.
