Default rev-up motor on non-rev harness and ecu?

Searched and found some threads on other forums but not on my350z.com

I have 04.5 350z and my motor is about to die. I currently have 140k miles and the oil pump is dying and I have rod knock and lifter ticks.

I found a good motor for very good price but it is off from 05 G35 6 MT. The seller confirmed me that it is a rev-up motor.

I want to know if it would bolt up on my non-rev up harness and ECU without any problems. I do understand that rev-up motor has exhaust cam control and etc. Will I be able to run the car for Daily driving? Also, is haltech my only option if I want to tune the car?

I've had a pm from a forum Member who told me that I gotta swap the cams from the de motor to rev up and timing covers. I don't have to run the rev up harness or the ecu

I gotta get the cam plug ins from injected performance which is $27.

I'm gonna check out the rev up motor on Monday and see if it is in good condition

Youll want to switch the cams. The cams have different specs.

But if he gets an UpRev tune, it will be fine, I would imagine. Car might run a little funny on stock tune, but I don't think they're different enough for it to go haywire?

I'm doing test pipes and headers at the same time and get an uprev tune asap. I have angled spacer from motordyne, drop in filter and megan exhaust. So let's see how things go. Does uprev reflash turn off cel from test pipes?

I tried the celfix before and it didnt work for me. So I guess the idea of getting the test pipe is gone now

I called the injected performance and sadly, they dont have the plugins in stock anymore.

http://www.injectedperformance.com/i...for350zg35.htm

After a quick chat with the owner, he advised me to use the stock ones. I cant really picture what I am supposed to do without looking at the camshafts in front of me.

I will post the pics when I start the swap.

Here is the picture of the motor I bought last night.

Just got an email from z1 about this question. Uprev osiris can turn off the cel caused by test pipe without any problem.

Not much to add specifically, but just make sure that if you have any exposed harness side connectors that you cover them up to prevent moisture shorting anything out.

Swap is done. I had to take the tranny out twice because I installed the flywheel wrong. Vqs have some sensor and if is not installed right, it won't start.

I would have to re learn the idle. Other than that, it runs great. My old motor had bad rear main seal, leaky valve gasket and bad oil pump. Rev up motor on non rev up harness worked for me
