Looking past full boltons...
So ive got a 2005 350z and Ive been trying to put quality parts on my car in order to do it right. I go to the strip about twice a month and ocassionally go to roll racing (street racing made safe: 20,40,60 rolls) events. So up till now I have installed:
- HKS Hi-Power Exhaust
- Motordyne ART pipes
- Motordyne Plenum Spacer
- JWT Pop Charger
- JWT Clutch and Flywheel
I have recently purchased the Tomei V2 headers have (heard good stuff about them) and was debating on either buying the Tomei 264 cams or the JWT C2 cams. The Tomei 264 seem to be the perfect grind for street cars, but I also plan on getting the 4.08 gears. And since the gears allow you to rev quicker I was starting to sway more towards the C2s since they seem to shine between 4.5-7krpms. I believe Tomeis description of the 264s is that they deliver power between mid and high rpm, while the 256 function best between low and mid, and the 272+ are optimal for high rpm.
If there is anyone NA who has the C2s or Tomei 264 who can share their experience with them and where in the powerband they get most power that would be great.
Also, which set of cams they reccomend would work best with the 4.08 gears.
Thanks, any info is greatly appreciated

But I found a cheaper route to something that would keep me relatively happy: Full Boltons (quality parts... none of that cheap ebay crap) + cams and gears.
Im hoping to get as close as i can to that magical 300whp, but of course I am not chasing a number, especially since i have the de...
Kinda swinging back to the tomeis since I found them at a better price, and assume they will work great with their V2 (race) headers.
Thanks for the response.
