Default 2003 Touring 6MT - Wot = 86.3% on live stream.

I was a little thrown off by this. Please read the following:

Im an avid tuner with ECMLink on my 2G DSM. Even before calibrating my tps for aftermarket throttle bodies, the sweep has always been 0-100%. I work at a GM Dealership as a Service Advisor, and on our various equipment the GM electronic throttle body assemblies sweep 0-100%.

I have a 2003 350z touring 6MT. 18'' deep dish rear wheels with 285s, 265s on the front - square setup - with a pop charger and a cat-back. Compared to some other Z's around town, mine appears to either be somewhat of a freak, or I just drive it better than they do, either way.... With my MAC handheld when I view the live stream and go WOT, it only goes to 86.3%... Peak timing advance for cylinder one was 27 degrees, and I noticed it backed down to 25 degrees after 6200revs.

Is this normal? The TPS maxing at 86.3%, not the timing retard. Do I have something going on? My car feels like its running pretty hot for what it is. Please comment below. Thank you, everyone.

ecu dosnt open fully in first gear and past a certain rpm it closes some as part of a engine protection strategy. thats why osiris offers a retune of the throttle body in there package.

^yep it's normal. Uprev reflash with the retuned throttle map will open the TB 100% in all gears/rpms. But to be honest I haven't noticed much if any of a difference on the dyno. I wonder if nissan does it just to deflect the air entering the plenum in an attempt to help equalize flow between banks? Or to keep the TB from over advancing?? Can't think of any other reason even 'protecting' the engine doesn't make sense....

How interesting...I noticed it does this in all gears, any RPM you start at. I wonder if there is any point to it opening the rest of the way? I don't see Nissan hindering engine efficiency for any good reason...but I could be wrong.

I wonder if they plenum/cams/heads etc are even able to do anything else with the extra
air being delivered from the throttle body? Interesting.

Thank you very much for your replies guys. I'm a DSM guy, so not real up on the Z33's. I started in the world on Maxima.org with my bolt nitrous 4th gen, so I don't feel so distant to the Z. I've had it a little over 2 years, but I feel like it screams.

Thanks again.
