Hi guys. I just received my replacement engine for my 03 350z.
New engine is an 05 that came with harness but no ecu.
My question is can I reuse my old ecu or do I need and 05?
Also if anyone has done this kind of swap, any pointers/time savers would be greatly appreciated.

Post a pic of the 05 engine, it's a direct swap as long as it's not an anniversary edition

 

It's non anniversary edition.
We are dropping it in right now.
I'll post pics when we get her done.
Crossing my fingers she starts. Motor has been sitting for years.

 

Hey guys, I just wanted to post an update on the project. For now, all the engine work is done. The engine went in great, no issues what so ever. Had to retain 03 engine harness along with injector harness.
If anyone needs an 04-05 harness I got it along with stock injectors and bunch other odds and ends.

New motor is 100% stock with 16k miles. My initial plan was to fix and sell but with so much labour I put into her, I'm definitely goanna keep her.
Had I know that initially I would have built the bottom end and crank up the boost. But for now, I'm running 5 psi max and drive it like I own it.
