Default why is my clutch grinding?

Im new to driving stick, and I picked up an 03 350z the other day. Everything was fine when I picked it up but now when I drive it theres some problems..

when shiftng into first or second, mainly first.. and I accidently take the rpm to high... theres this loud grinding noise.. and even when I press in clutch and take it out of gear.. the sound stays till the rev goes down...

What could that be??

Why are you revving too high when putting it into first gear? That really doesn't make any sense. Just slow to a few miles per hour and gently push the gear lever into first. You shouldn't have any grinding.

Also, it isn't your clutch grinding, it is the transmission. It is also possible you have bought a Z with bad synchros and that might require a new transmission.
