Hello, I recently purchased and had installed a Stillen short shifter from a very popular local Nissan specialist shop... Ive had work done there before and everything was phenomenal.... here my problem/concern:

when I am in neutral or any gear, I feel that with little effort the actual short shifter rod rotates a bit as well.. I tightened my shift **** so I know that its not the culprit.. even when I go through the gears there I can feel it rotate that tiny bit and its very concerning. I think that they lubed the bottom when attaching it, so would It be from that or is this a problem worth getting fixed.. as far as I know nothing else was changed..

Also a couple times when Im in neutral; moving into first I feel as if it is hitting the corner of the "entrance" for first..

The shifter has is made from two pieces, with a rubber insulator between. Sounds like maybe the insulator isn't glued properly to both pieces, allowing the rotation. As for the difficult shifting, sounds like the top plate of the assembly isn't aligned properly - easy fix is to loosen it, shift into all gears, then re-tighten.

I'd take it back to the shop for an exchange.
