I have a 07 z. Is the oem clutch a stage 2?

A OEM clutch is an OEM clutch. There is no X formula that makes a clutch a certain stage. The stages are dictated by the manufacturer of whatever clutch your looking at

But... keep in mind that an '07 HR clutch IS different from all years (DE engine) previous. Physically different and utilizes different form of actuation ("internal", concentric slave cylinder).

 

OEM would be Stage OEM, or some companies would consider it to be Stage 0.

More truth to that than what people may think.

To "Stage 0" a car (or "baseline" in my vernacular) means to get a car back to it's as-new spec in preparation for future modifications. This essentially means "blueprinting" the car closer to factory spec than even a new car off the showroom floor is.

That said, an OEM clutch would be considered a Stage 0 "mod".

Most people - when buying a new-to-them used vehicle tend to want to jump right in with mods when truthfully, a Z-car baselined properly can be more car than what most can handle.

But it isn't cool....
