Default Reflash by Nissan?

The people at Ultimate Z told me that Nissan is reflashing ecu's with a new revision. Does anyone know what the changes are? Fuel economy, emissions, or performance?

I will say this. The techs said that the are only doing a reflash if you have the check engine light on. I spent about 1 hour with the folks at Don Davis Nissan in Arlington, TX (1/31/04). They claim that the Nissan will only allow for a reflash if there were a recall or in response to some problem. I explained that the Z runs rich above a certain RPM and they said that they were not aware of the problem. I revved the engine for them and they saw the rich condition on the diagnostic.

Still the reflash is designed to fix problems. No problems=no reflash. They also showed me that there was nothig like a recall that would require a recall on our cars. They were kind enough to show me their screens as to where the updates would have been had they come from Nissan. I hope that this helps.
