Default Vlsd welded diff?

Hi,I've Google'd a bit and haven't been able find the answer I'm looking for so I've made an account to ask you guys (Facebook forums are useless).

Have any of you welded your vlsd differentials?if so how'd it go?I have 2 diffs I'm willing to experiment with 1 because it's as good as an open.
Thank you for your time in advance, yes used the search option, yes I googled it.

I'm pretty sure the factory vlsd is a sealed unit that you can't weld safely. If you had a factory base model open diff you can weld the spline gears together making it full lock all the time.....I could be wrong on the vlsd part though.

Isn't the VSLD clutch type?

I think i looked a while back and these can't be welded.. You need a base model with an open dif. Which are much cheaper btw

Yeah people don't like selling their open diffs around Seattle,I got this spare vlsd with no problem. Maybe I'll search into shiming the diff I've heard that's not to bad, thanks for your reply

No.

VLSD is a Viscus Type diff. Not a clutch type
