2004 350z oil leak on drivers side, but where!?
Hey guys! Currently sitting in the breakroom of my work, so i'll be sure to get some pictures posted tonight.
When i'm driving around for a while, I notice the smell of burning oil. There is no noticable smoke at first, but once I stop and get out of the car and look under the hood, I can see a very small amount of smoke coming up from behind/to the right of the throttle body/intake. After some initial inspection, It looked almost clear as day that it was the valve cover gasket on the driver's side. I spent about 4 hours last night taking everything apart (I am most definitely not a skill mechanic, and have learned everything I know from youtube). after removing the valve cover, the gasket looks almost perfect. I cleaned it up, and put it back on. I don't want to put it all back together just to have it continue to happen. I figure that I should try and get it handled while i have the plenum and everything off.
My main question is, any idea where it could be coming from? I've checked the driver's side camshaft position sensor, no leak.It definitely doesn't look like the rear main seal.
Oh yeah, and to make matters worse, I snapped one of the bolts on the valve cover and it's stuck in the head. sooooo, anybody have any tips on how to get that out, and where to get a new bolt?
Thanks,
