Question If you installed an aftermarket Torque Converter for your A5T please post HERE!

I want this to be my next mod and have cash now.

I want the Edge over Level 10 at this point.

I understand there were some issues with the Verter at stalls above 2600. I know what I want already 2900 stall, I won't waste my money on less stock is like 2300 I am not going to drop 800.00 parts and install for 300 higher stall sorry.

Questions:
1. Did this effect your TS reflash if applicable?
2. Is it working and shifting properly?
3. What Tranny cooler are you using?
4. Any issue I should know about that would make me not do this?

Keep in mind I have a Technosquare flashed car with FI. I know the tranny can take it I have run many after market TC's.
I am also willing to reflash, is it necassary just for a stall change?

If you don't have one and just want to post theories please start your own "Well I think it might do this or that...." thread.
I am looking for A/M TC owners not speculation and want to order one ASAP! I am convinced it is the final peice to my car to make it a Z06 killer and need it for my 60 ' in an A5T.

Thumbs up My Data

12 Sec - Even though I went the Level 10 route I know that Gurgen & DaveO are happy with their Edge T/C's. Here's my input:

1) I installed my 3k T/C before my TS reflash & it worked fine w/
the factory ECU. The TS mod just really seemed to wake up
the whole car. I couldn't tell any tranny-specific improvements.

2) I've had no "Check Engine" lights for the 4k miles I've had the
T/C. My shifts R firmer BUT hat's because I went with the L10
V/B recalibration.

3) I have the Perma-Cool 18k GVW Thinline Tranny Cooler. It's
part # 711-1012 for #33.99 from Jeg's. I had the same one
on my Lexus GS400 w/2800 stall T/C for 3+ years & no
tranny fluid problems.

4) U seem to have a handle on T/C usage. I love mine but I
think Gurgen had his restalled because he had too much
wheelspin when he swapped his gears to the 3.55's. U
may have traction issues since U're F/I. Swift Racing ( a
major Lexus tuner ) recommended the 2400 stall T/C for
their S/C cars & the 2800 for N/A ( like mine ).

Let us know which way U go & how it works out for ya since I'll be squeezing by summer with maybe a Stillen stage 4 S/C in my future. Good luck!!

Thank you very much Gene. I am going for it then and thank you for the cooler part # I have ordered from Jegs before too.

I expect some wheel spin I had a 3200 and learned how to use it. If it don't make my wheels spin I wasted my money, I think you got my point.

Peas!
