Here is a picture of the filter adapter....Not bad looking but I am sure its just a generic import size like 19mm or something...

Here is a picture of the finished product..Note that I had to HIGHLY modify my front bumper on this DIRECT BOLT ON from Stillen This job is NOT for the amature and I would only suggest it if you plan on beating the **** out of your car at the track..

I will say this....The cooler itself appears to be of good quality but the fact that it was sold to me as a KIT and I was told that it fits cars with intercoolers, pisses me off..Stillen needs to get some people working sales that have a clue and stop BS'ing people..And the install directions were VERY **** POOR!!!!

I now remember why I HATE Stillen..ALways trust your past experiences and first instinct people..

Sorry to hear the trouble you had to go thru to get it installed. I was hopeing it was a direct bolt on . Looks like you did a great job with what you had to work with. I'm not FI and don't plan on it. Would it be a bolt on for me ? Should I look into buying seperate pieces and do a DIY kit ? Not having the SS lines really worries me too.

Well the SS lines are only a covering over a rubber line anyway...If you want to try a B&M cooler I will give you my bracket from the Stillen (just pay the shipping) and mount it in the stillen location using their bracket...I think B&M makes an iol filter adapter kit too....So you might spend $200 and some engineering time peicing together what you need...Dont get the STILLEN..

Is the cooler made by Setrab ? What size is it ? Does it have a part # on it ? If I can come up with the pieces seperate and at a better price than Stillen I will use the mounting bracket you have. Thanks for offering it.

Sorry to hear to that, but nevertheless you did a great job and a great service for all members on this board. Thank you.

So was it worth it? Did you notice any drop in oil temperature or pressure?

Hi Board Members! and Daking350.

It's a shame we couldn't have helped you with the installation of the oil cooler kit. I'm sure that one of our Techs or R&D personnel would have helped you out considerably. Here are some things that are going on with your oil cooler kit:

-This kit is designed to require the drilling of 3-holes. It was not designed to accomodate the ATI intercooler installation without modifications.

-If the sales person mis-spoke in the description of the installation or characteristics of this kit, we shouldn't have done that. We will address that immediately. And thank you for the insight.

-The photo that you are referencing is for the 300ZX Oil Cooler Kit. Which I think you referenced at the beginning. We are just now getting the application for the 350z/G35 onto our site this week. I've attached the photo of this kit which is also in our 2004 catalogs (currently shipping out). I mention this because you spoke of us misleading customers with regards to SS Braided Lines. I hope this clears up any further questions with regards to that.

-You have first-hand experience with this. So, you could help with this next item. When you installed your ATI intercooler, did you have to relocate your factory steering cooler? If so, where is it now? I'm not able to find it in your photos. DaKing, I ask this so that we can properly train our people.

-DaKing, in the future, please give us a call and at least give us a crack at trying to help you work through an installation.

Unfortunately, none of this makes up for the time and trouble you had. I hope the Oil Cooler performs for you.

Cheers!

AC

The first thing you need to do is re-think the VERY poor and unhelpful instructions...It gives references to parts that the average do-it-yourselfer would have NO CLUE..Needs to be simplified with better pictures...

-This kit is designed to require the drilling of 3-holes. It was not designed to accomodate the ATI intercooler installation without modifications. I specifically asked this question and was told that it was "no problem"...I was skeptical and expected some modifications but I could not use ANY of your brackets...I basically spent $380 on a BOLT ON KIT that I had to design and re-engineer myself..

-If the sales person mis-spoke in the description of the installation or characteristics of this kit, we shouldn't have done that. We will address that immediately. And thank you for the insight.
I appreciate that...But it does me no good at this point...

-The photo that you are referencing is for the 300ZX Oil Cooler Kit. Which I think you referenced at the beginning. We are just now getting the application for the 350z/G35 onto our site this week. Well I DID find it VERY misleading and WAS expecting SS braided lines for the price you charged me and I naturally assumed that since the former 300ZX kits had SS lines and cost alot less than this one, that THIS kit would..I would call that misleading AND dissapointing at the least...

-You have first-hand experience with this. So, you could help with this next item. When you installed your ATI intercooler, did you have to relocate your factory steering cooler? If so, where is it now? I'm not able to find it in your photos. DaKing, I ask this so that we can properly train our people.
How could I help and what good will it do me??My ATI I/C requires mw to relocate my power steering cooler to the Drivers side using extended hoses and brackets..So based on your statement I assume I just paid $380+shipping to do YOUR research and development for YOU, for a product I was completely mislead about....That sounds completely fair

Unfortunately, none of this makes up for the time and trouble you had. I hope the Oil Cooler performs for you.
No it does not...Once again Alex,I am HIGHLY disapointed in Stillen's products...I feel I was overcharged and mislead on this KIT..I had a sour taste in my mouth from our past experiences and probably should have stayed away from doing business with you.It probably would have been mutually benificial to the both of us..But I TRIED to be the better man and let the past stay there but I was just mentally refreshed...I would like to just tell everyone I am NOT slamming or slandering STILLEN or their products in any way,but I am just voicing my opinions and past experiences with their products and customer relations...I would like to say it is MY personal OPINION that for the price of this kit,it is inferior to something you can piece together yourself for a half of what this kit cost me..

Why don't you just return it and cancel it from your CC, obviously they sold you a product that wasn't as "advertised". I'd shove it right up their ****s. I think Stillen should be offering a full refund here, and don't help them out at all.

That looks weak! There's probably other guys out there that makes better coolers! Thanks for taking the risk for us. And I feel bad you had to go through all this bull$hit. I'd be sure to stay away from that cooler!

Dont get me wrong...I am not flaming them..The cooler itself appears to be of a good quality..But I just cant understand why for the price they charge they decided to go with regular lines and fittings and not something a little more flashy like Stailess braided lines like the previous ones for the 300ZX???
Hey Carey,
Why dont YOU contact me with some sort of resolution for faulsly advertising your product to me..I am obviously not going to go through the trouble of taking it off and returning it but I feel SS lines and fittings would be in order...Considering the trouble I had to go through in making it fit when Daniel in SALES said it would fit...I specifically asked him it it will fit with a SC'd Car with an intercooler...He said yes..It does not and will not in any way fit the way you suggest in the directions...It is simply made for a N/A car that in my opinion does not need an oil cooler at the HP levels we are seeing in N/A applications...Lets see if your a stand up guy like you claim...

2FST4U,

Is that sandwich adapter thermostatically bypassed or is it just an "always on" type of application?

I think the time to have discussed a misleading representation by the employee is when you first got the package....not when its already installed

The B&M cooler I mentioned includes the oil filter relocation kit as well

You are right..But I was anxious to get the oil cooler on and should have sent it back to them in the first place...I have no one to blame but myself and I doubt I will EVER learn my lesson with Stillen..
I should have went with the B&M but the Stillen sounded so Easy at the time of the sale...Oh well...Chock it up as a lesson learned...That I wont learn from..
ps..PLEASE do not tell me what the B&M would have costed me....

See post #2 in this thread!

Peas out homey!

Daking you got the cooler and can get the braided line at some specialty shops your car is cool might as well finish it. My concern was always where to put the coolers because I want a tranny cooler too and with the FI the whole dang engine bay is full. On F-Bods they were putting them under the car.
