PLEASE HELP ME.. this one to two hour instal has turned into an 8 hour marathon. i dont think i got all the parts. I dont have the two flush allen head bolt that go on the top of the plenum and i dont know what the center "post" are... is this the two hex head bolts? so you thread the hex head bolts into the lower intake and then set the plenum on top of the heads? How does that work?
two of my bolts broke off and i had to drill them out. i still cant get one out! will have to have that done tomorrow. someone please fill me in on the whole center support setup because i am just too delerious and confused to work on it anymore. PICS WOULD BE AWSOME!
and were can i get the top bolts that are flushmount? can i find them somewere because i drive my car everyday and i cant have it sitting up like this. i thought it was going to be very straight forward but i got throwed off.
helpppppp

yeah those flush bolts confuse me as well.
They're on the center post. In your hardware packet you have 2 plastic tubes. One smaller than the other and has what looks like a bolt thru them.
Just use the hex key and unscrew the bolt off the tubes (those are the flush mount bolt you're talking about)
Screw the tube (center post) down on the lower plenum, with the shorter one in front (remember to use loctite).
The flush mount bolts will hold the plenum to the center posts.
Go to Chris' site for more detail pics and info.

I don't think you can buy them easily.
BTW, they are metal now, not plastic.
Best to email Kinetix and ask to pick up the parts. You are in LA, they are in Santa Ana. Quickest way.

Man, the same thing happened to me yesterday! They sent me the version 1. Check the holes in which the flushhead screws and spacers you are missing. See if the little cork gasket is 1/2 inch. If it is, you have Version 1. We called up Kinetix and Rob over there was very helpful and agreed to overnight us a version 2/3 or whatever they are now. Anyways, since we already had my plenum off and we aren't sure if it'll come in today, here's what we did.
We went to the hardware store and looked for some M6 allthread, but had no luck. So, we ended up buyign some nylon spacer deals and some M6 screws, and washers, and made our own spacers. If you can find some M6 allthread, you'll be in luck. I think the front one has to be 1 5/8 inch, and the rear has to be 2 1/8. Call up kinetix for the exact numbers, but here's a pic of what we did for a TEMPORARY solution.

thanx... i measured and it is bigger than 1/2 inch so i think i got the right version but i still need to get those spacers. I guess i need to call them monday morning and see if he will ship me the spacers and the top bolts overnight. explain to me what M6 all thread is....?
My Gosh, the things you guys are doing to keep a positive spin on the Kinetix plenum is simply amazing. The loyalty you guys have shown is simply astonishing. My hat's off to you guys. But, why do you do it? I just don't understand.

Because to some, having to pay more for the other one, deal with shipping a core, and also purchase a lesser strut bar replacement just isn't an option. Not to mention the heatsoak issue.
Your display of loyalty to the competition by bashing every kinetix thread seems pretty significant too. Sure you don't live near nashville?

Don't get me wrong, I'm very disappointed by the way my deal went down with Kinetix, but the way they handled my situation was second to none. They saturday shipped me the new one ($40) from about 3:00 PM yesterday and it got here @ 1 today. I think their attention to detail hasn't been great by any means, but their customer service is great (ie: me being on the cpu's as "shipped", yet after 4 emails, they finally noticed that my box was sitting in their place, so they then overnighted me it... long story). But yeah, I"d go with Crawford but I don't wanna have to spend $800 after all is said and done. Also, feel the kinetix after mobbin the hell out of the car-- it's awesome!
just a tip, anyone custom making parts might want to be careful.
lets not forget this is the intake manifold, if your replacement breaks, or causes the plenum to break, or whatever, and the replacement gets into a cylinder, you 400$ plenum turns into a 6000$ engine that wont be covered under warrenty when they find the strange bolt in the cylinder.
personally, Id box it up, put the stock plenum back on, and stay that way till kinetix themselves advise you on when the next step will be.
just my opinion.
I donno bout the loyalty, but we certain do have some daring folks around here, Ill wait for someone else to say if V3 works or not.

Is we all took this approach, I wonder how big a box it would take to send a 350Z back to Nissan. While some have had problems, Kinetix has delt with issues individually. Yes, they are on Version 3. However, they would not have known problems existed with Version 1 & 2 until put to the test.
I for one, support their product and company!

Why would you guys try to install something without first making sure you have all the parts that should be included? They give you a very detailed booklet that shows all the parts that should be included - if anything is missing, why would you even attempt the install?
There are many more of us with the plenum successfully installed than not......

like I stated before.
I'm still haulin a$$ in my version ONE plenum.
I definitely learned alot doing all the guniea (spelling) pig work but the one on there now has been nothing but AWESOME.
I back em up because like everyone states, there customer service is second to none and the extra power you get from this one is far better than ANY OTHER BOLT ON I HAVE!
check my sig to see what I have done, if interested.

What you said just isn't true. I've been very careful not to post on Kinetix threads. This is the first one I have posted on. I never mentioned Crawford in my reply, you did. Do I have a Crawford Plenum and Cats? - Yep! Do I think they're great? - Yep!
But that wasn't what my response was about, it was about the extraordinary lengths the Kinetix guys have gone through to make something, that was obviously released to early, work. I would have never stood for such products from Crawford.
You have never seen me bash Kinetix. That just isn't my style.
Again, Kinetix folks, I commend you. You have gone far beyond the call of duty.
