Default VK45DE in the Z

I had a thought when I saw the FX45, with its VK45DE V8 and the same FM chassis this engine should fit in the Z. Has anyone seen this conversion done yet? This mod could be an alternative to stroking the VQ35DE. Find a totaled FX45 and take the engine out

Thanks for the update on the name of the motor. I could see how the added weight would affect handling, but couldnt a different suspension system help reduce the effect of added weight? Plus just wondering if anyone would think of doing this kind of mod.

Why won't the handling be any good?

If you were smart in the install you'd push the motor as far back as you can, up against the firewall. Then run the intake side to the front.

In theory it would work VERY well. My concern would be width... Not sure if it would slide in too well.

The fit is not the problem its the weight. Ruinds handling. You will need to get the fron suspension and sways of the FX45 if it can fit or the upcoming M45.
