Has anyone done this or seen this done b4 to a Z?

topics II did it for his drift car, i imagine it would not be terribly difficult, but if your looking for big power you may want to just add a turbo to the z. it can put out 400whp for the cost of just the engine swap.

Yep, Topics II... It was expensive. The car is really fast, and he quoted a 700lb weight savings! I think it wasnt really worth the cash though.

Now was that a total weight savings?, just wondering cause there is no way there is a 700 lb. difference between the SR20 and the VQ35.

he also stripped his car to a shell. i would think he saved about 250 lbs from the swap alone.

or wait, it might have not been performed by top secret, but there is a car that ive seen that has the top secret wide body kit and the rb26dett under the hood - i cant remember if it was created by top secret or not.

Wasn't it some racing team's Pike's Peak Hill Climb car? I seem to recall them doing the whole R34 drivetrain, including all wheel drive.

VQ is plent of stout. Get some low compresion pistons and stronger rods, and you car with a turbo should easily be able to handle 700 whp with proper tuning. You would have to throw lots of money into an SR to get the kind of power. Even with the RB it would not be that cheap. The VQ weights much less than the RB.

Top Secret had a VQ30DETT, stroked to a 3.2, with TT to boost up to 690 hp
