topics II did it for his drift car, i imagine it would not be terribly difficult, but if your looking for big power you may want to just add a turbo to the z. it can put out 400whp for the cost of just the engine swap.

Wasn't it some racing team's Pike's Peak Hill Climb car? I seem to recall them doing the whole R34 drivetrain, including all wheel drive.
VQ is plent of stout. Get some low compresion pistons and stronger rods, and you car with a turbo should easily be able to handle 700 whp with proper tuning. You would have to throw lots of money into an SR to get the kind of power. Even with the RB it would not be that cheap. The VQ weights much less than the RB.
