Nismo S-tune Sport Air Element
Its a small DIY upgrade. Doesn't cost that much, except you need to replace the filter every 10K miles.
After trying several different elements I was disappointed. I knew they would not give me any gains, but expected better revving or something.
Well, the Nismo S-tune Sport Air Element (dry type) made a difference. My butt dyno is very skeptical of any mod. I can say that the car felt stronger and was quieter than with the K&N filter. I'm guessing the change in sound has to do with wet type or cotton vs paper, but the lower engine growl and whistle of the K&N is gone.
The price. How can I justify it? Well, I spend that much in gas a week here in SJ, CA. So for something that last a year, means the gf will get two less dinners. LOL

Today I really got to "play" with the new NISMO air element. I have to say the car is quieter only below 2900RPM. The engine note is completely different from the K&N. No whistle or growl. Its more a hollow sound. I'm very sure this filter is less restrictive than the K&N, but that probably contributes to its short life.
Does anyone know about the details of the NISMO sport air element wet type?
Do I have to order from japanparts.com and be the first?
I want to know if it can be cleaned. Japan parts claims NISMO says its 30% better flow.

the "NISMO WET TYPE" filter is a regular wet type NISSAN Filter element that was originally equiped with the Z / G35...
the Dry Type element is cool but wicked expensive... we have them priced alot lower then we should on our web site (close to cost)
