Default How long did your stock clutch disc last?

Has any one here replaced their clutch due to them wearing out? If you did, at what mileage; assuming the car has been used for normal driving conditions, occasional hard launches and spirited driving.

I'm close to 17,000miles now and have been getting quite abit of clutch slip followed by some clutch burnt smell during moderately hard launches lately. Think I'm dued to change out the disc soon (together with some light weight flywheel). BTW, what is the recommended mileage to do so?

Thanks in advance!

Tristan

Clutch usually last at least 50k miles for me.. it all depends on the driver, if they ride the clutch or not..

I have 35k miles so far, and the clutch still going strong.. I have drag race, drifting, and slip the clutch quite a few times.. I am guessing it will last at least 50k - 60k.. (hoping)

Hmm.... I may just be riding on the clutch too much. Or perhaps is just looking for an excuse to upgrade my clutch assembly

Thanks for the replies!

I replaced mine @ 13,500 miles, because it was slipping like crazy. It was completely worn down to the screws. On all my previous cars the clutch lasted 70k or more (I don't ride the clutch). I drive the car fast, but nothing I would call "abusive". I missed the warranty on the clutch by 1500 miles.

I had previously noticed some flywheel chattering noises when I first got the car, but the dealer told me that was normal for "performance" clutches. I think they are full of it.
Anyway... just my 2 cents.

52,000+ and still on stock clutch. i have a lot of highway miles though, but i do autocross once a month and drive it like it's stolen the rest of the time.
