N/A 350Z Mods - Which are best?
A couple quick questions...
What is this EVO Final Drive thing everyone keeps talking about?
I can see it has to do with gearing, but don't really know what it is. Plus, when you say ECU reflash, specify exactly what I would need to do. Could the final drive/LSD be used with other mods such as a supercharger? Is there any mods it shouldn't be used with?
How much is the HKS Supercharger (plus install)? What are the negatives of installing such a mod? I don't care so much about warranty issues as I do my car just dying due to a mod. That's the only reason I was suggesting non F/I, because I heard they were more dangerous. I know, it's sad getting into mods when I don't know much about them.

The 3.9 final drive is def a mod that you can feel right away!!!
It will improve your acceleration in all gears. (This is the ring and pinion which are the last two gears that transfer to the wheels found in the rear "pumpkin")
The 3.9 is the gearing that should have come on the "track model" 350Z from the factory. (OEM 6spd manual is 3.5)
You will get the same seat of the pants feeling as doing mods that would net between 25-30+ ft/lbs in torque! To gain that you would have to do headers, test pipes, exhaust, cold air intake, ecu reflash and pulley!
Yes the fuel mileage will go down a bit...but aslo do to the fact that the car accelerates much better and you will be throttling it a lot more.
For anyone seriously tracking their 350Z or G35 ...this is def the mod that you are looking for.
Its also a good time to install a new differential since it has to be removed for the installation anyway.
Cheers
