Default Ticking from rear axle

When I start to pull away my rear axle makes a ticking or pinging sound. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is it a warranty issue?

Thanks,
Jason

Mine does this too. It is covered under warranty, but I'm worried w/ my modified suspension. Its your rear axles. I took it in while I was still stock, they didn't have the parts so they had to order them. Since then, I have put eibachs on so we will see what they say.

Outer axel cover and wheel bearing... there's a TSB on it. It can be either or both sides in the rear wheels.

I had mine fixed last week just in time to get my new wheels on :-)

they replaced mine.

i have my car nearly on a max drop that the coilovers will allow and have sway bars. they said "looks nice" heres your fixed car"

they said that the suspension mods played no role in a drivetrain part. also said that this problem afects ALL 2003 and some early 2004 Zs. for me, they knew it was the problem and not the coils. still i dont think youll have a problem getting yours fixed.

Any problems if you don't get it fixed?

I don't trust dealers and don't want my wheels marked up.

They were @ssholes at my dealer in MA they keep blaming the rear noise on my rear brakes. So im going to another dealer when i have the time. If i were you i would make a print out of the problem so they dont give you the run around.

Thanks Glen

ThreeFitty, I had the same problem. I took my car to my local dealer and they said my rear axles nuts weren't torqued to spec. It was covered under warranty. No sounds ever since.

Also, I don't know if you remember, but you took a look at the door ding on my driver's side rear fender, at the Hooter's meet a couple of weeks ago. I can send pics to refresh your memory. Please PM me with a quote to fix that ding. Thanks.
