Turbo was blowing alot of smoke. Decided to have it rebuild as well as a dynamic rotor balanced. The tech doing the rebuild sent me a bunch of photos and he was confussed.. his exact words ..
"I believe they took apart a balanced unit and retro fitted it to fit this turbonetics housing and the bearing housing as well. Looks to be simply bad assembly process mixed with low quality parts and unbalanced assembly".
You can see the markings on some of the internals say REV.
My question has anyone took these apart before? I did purchase my unit second hand so ... was it ... ?
1. It was rebuilt with cheap rev9 parts. and it was an authentic turbo to begin with.
2. Rev9 sells turbonetics turbos with their own internals and pass it off as turbonetics authentic as part of their kit?
Once again I did buy this turbo used so I can't be certain which is true. Anyone ever took apart their turbo from this kit?
