In short, the Turbonator is an electric blower, somewhat like attaching a 12V hair-dryer to your intake. Supposedly good for 1 or 2 PSI, but a pure teen-age Honda mod. If you put one on the car, never let anyone here know it or you'll need an asbestos suit.
It works, but people bash on it because not only is it a ghetto way to achieve any form of forced-induction, but it doesn't address any of the issues that a proper F/I solution should, which we've all learned is not a good idea on the VQ35. Anything that involves clothes dryer duct isn't going near my car.

From their website :
"I purchased two Turbonators for my Chrysler Sebring and immediately noticed the increase in power. It was more than I expected. I am already noticing the improved gas mileage. I like them so much, I am ordering two more for my brothers. Now, it feels like my car has a turbo charger." - Dr. Brian Coyle (San Jose, CA) Read more testimonials..
I wonder if this 'doctor' knows what the Turbonator is. I wonder if he knows what a 'turbo charger' is. What's even better is that he put TWO of these things on his car. I just hope his brothers didn't kick his a$s when they found out he is sending them junk mail.

1) Putting stuff in intake tube = pressure drop
2) Pressure drop = less HP.
Use common sense...
At least the electric supercharger is capable of generating 1+ psi, which is probably better than any CAI can give you on a nice cool day. Not that it's a good idea to put it on the Z, i'm just saying...
Yea, but, it's 600.00 for the hair dryer. And, if you look at the Dynos, three is never more than a 4-8 hp increase on the vehicles other than Porsches'.
So, go with a plenum spacer and get more HP and save big $$$
