Teh remote map selector lets you choose between maps on the fly without plugging into a laptop, hence you can tune multiple programs (example: 1 for high boost, 2 low boost, 3 gas efficiency). This is useful if you have forced induction.
The 4 bar map is needed for most tuning and is a must if your going over 9psi as your stock MAF cannot read anything over that in terms of the volts.
