Just like the title says, basically new haltech platinum pro harness. bought it and never ended up using it before i sold my car. it works good, i got my car to start and idle on it perfectly but didnt get a chance to go to a dyno and ended up just sticking to uprev.

What do you mean by it "does not include the ecu license"? Are you referring to the Osiris license? Please post a screenshot of the cable management screen in Osiris so we can see exactly what you've got

 

No longer have the car so the cable can't connect to the ecu....this is the osiris tuner version. But I didn't dump the Ecu license to the cable cerial number so this is purely for the cable and tuner version license. You must also purchase the license for your particular Ecu through uprev. Tried to screenshot the rom editor but no dice without a live Ecu to connect to.

 

Not having the Osiris license is a big deal. You can buy a tuner version cable (no license) for $400 brand new.

 

Then the price is $300 lol I forget what everything costs lol. Been a long time since I bought it.

as shown in the pictures this is the previous model, the platinum pro redbox. it uses the piggy back harness. guts and processor is essentially the same, the only difference is mine doesnt control all the creature comforts like the silver PNP box. so ac,radio,seat heaters... etc are done by the factory ecu but full engine control is done by the haltech

 

Regarding that Uprev cable, can I do my own tuning as long as I got the Uprev license in my ECU? I've been told the cable has to have a license of some sort? This is confusing lol.

 

Do you know if the cable is the same for a G35? I bought a bunch of stuff from a G35 guy and he's supposed to be shipping the software and cable..but I'm not sure the cable will work on my Z.

The ECU (G35) he sold me is supposed to have osiris on it, and uprev said they will transfer the license from the G35 to my 350Z for no charge...just pay shipping both ways.

I'm hoping I dont have to pay a fortune for a cable for mine. Is there a chip or something inline on them? It just seems somebody would copy that little pigtail instead of buy them for that much...unless there's some reason you can't.

 

ok so for those of you who are unclear on how the uprev tuning licensing works, there are essentialy 2 different licences that everyone who uses it has. you have a licence on your actual ecu OR attached to the cerial number of your cable if you dump it. then you have the type of licence that is actually attached to your cable that communicates with the romeditor software. i have the upgraded tuner license attaced to my cable which allows you to access more features as well as tune as many cars as you want. you will still have to buy a license through uprev for 250$ per ecu that you decide to flash. and in answer to the g35 question, yes this cable and any other uprev cable will work on g35's. this cable will work on any nissan or infinity manufactured from 2003-2008 and possibly even 08+ (i dont have experience with years before 2003 or beyond 08 so i dont want to speak out of turn.)

The cables and licenses are all universal, the only thing that is vehicle specific is the actual rom file (tune).

The cables are encrypted so that you can't use the software without one plugged in.
