my 2006 350z roadster will not allow the rear lock operate to lock the roof closed.

I carried out the auto closure wire adjustment but each time I open and close the roof it appears that the wire has lengthened again.

I am not sure if the motor is working. is there some way of testing it to prove it is other than everything is working fine when opening and closing the roof.

I really could do with some advice
