Post HR Headers & cats - $300

Ran these on the VQ35DE in my first competition car temporarily when my china special tubular headers broke and I was waiting for my longtubes to come in. Honestly, these headers / cats felt better than my tubular / test pipe setup. Torque felt better than both the tubulars and my longtubes, top end lacked compared to the longtubes but was pretty much the same as my tubulars. Rad setup, 11/10 would run again. Cats have like 40K miles on them.

Does the HR headers and cats connect right up to the DE Y-pipe? I'm assuming it does because the HR y-pipe is interchangeable with the DE y-pipe...

Bummer, thought I had responded to this via my phone but I guess it never went through.

The cats alone will not fit a 2004, HR headers have a different flange than DE headers. By themselves they'll only work with headers for an HR motor.

Yes, HR headers & cats connect up to a DE y pipe just fine.

The second heat shields have been removed. Did you have any problems with heat running them like that?

No issues with heat whatsoever, and my car was a race car which had all of the heat and sound dampening removed. The only heat that came in was from the back portion of the exhaust coming up from the area where I had removed the metal parcel shelf and a gap in the firewall where a grommet wouldn't go back in. No heat from the cats or headers at all.

Thanks for the answer. I asked since I just purchased a pair and the second header had to have the hs removed.
