Default NISMO front bumper questions

I like the NISMO bumper except for that little rectangular piece that sits in the center of the opening. Is it there for any particular reason? Can it be removed? Thanks!

are you talking about the part that mounts the license plate?

i guess you can remove that. i think it helps to reinforce the cross bar too though.

Lou,
There's no point removing it, there's tow hook behind the rectangular plate which will look even worse than the cover. If you don't like it, paint it black.

You could always paint that piece black, i've seen that done alot. Or were you wanting to remove it altogether and put a mesh grill behind it? I think that center bar might be a bit wobbly without it.
