Default Dead pedal (foot rest) question: Once removed, how do you put it back?

Everytime i remove it i can't get it back in place. It will stay loose forever until i get a new one.
Is there a trick as to how to remove it? I thought you just had to pull it out and just push it in to install it back.

to remove the kick panel next to it, there is a screw behind the foot rest. In order to access this screw, you need to remove the footrest first.

how did you remove your dead pedal? what i did on mine is you need to take the aluminum cover off screw on four corners and one on the middle then there's two big plastic screw head one on the top and one on the bottom. turn it 90 degrees clockwise then pull your dead pedal out.. to put it back do the opposite. put the dead pedal back in place then turn the plastic screw head 90 degrees counter clockwise. that should do it... if it doesn't work then im wrong.

i didn't know about the "taking the aluminum cover off" part. I guess i'll try that. I don't remember seeing screws around the aluminum cover though.
