Default Shaved door handles

Has anyone shaved their door handles? I was debating to have it done when I get my front emblem removed.

I did it on my other car and I wouldn't do it again. If your car ever runs out of power it is a pain to get open

i have it done on my M3. I have them on door poppers that is on a remote. If the remote fails, there is a manual pushbutton release for one of the doors hooked directly to the battery terminal in the trunk (BMW batterys are in the trunk).

I havent seen any pics of how it looks done of the Z, but on my M3 it gives the door a much cleaner, seamless look.

repost. Do a search, I believe there was a pretty lengthy thread a while back.

Oh yeah, and about the back-up button, that is a good idea, you could put it near the button for the hatch.

If the car is locked and the bettery is dead, how do you plan on getting the hatch open?

I understand the dead battery is only half the concern. other half is a solenoid breaking which is apparently somewhat common? doeant seem worth it. Id get the handles painted first.

I wasn't talking about opening the hatch, I meant putting a button to open the door, but it would be useless if the battery was dead. Oh well.

You see, on my BMW, there is a key slot directly into the trunk, so you can open the trunk with a key and then jump the battery with another car from the trunk and pop the door from there.

FYI anyone with shaved doors puts a rather simple device on that shuts off power if/when the battery gets low. leaving enough juice to atleast open doors though its meant to leave enough juice to start the car. its a handy item not real complicated, why it isnt standard on all cars, I do not know.

Coming from the trucker scene, shaved doors are a must. I thought about it with the Z, but I actually like our handles and the aluminum color goes well with everything else including the wheels I'll be getting.

I'm shaving my handles, emblems, rear wiper and antenna (i don't listen to the radio, and the shorty doesn't work anyway) when I lambo my doors. I own a shop here in Tempe, AZ am building my car for show and hopefully will be in SEMA next year.

AutoLoc makes a shaved door handle kit and for an extra few bucks you get an Emergency Cable. No power needed just in case the battery dies. I'm an Autoloc dealer and can also get other shaved door handle kits if interested.
