Thanks Rayden. Nah, I don't want to duplicate your paint job and your rims; I have to be original - I just wanted to take a closer look at the style of rims and maybe some similar orange colors. Of course things are in a holding pattern right now as I wait to hear if the Z will be totaled (this would be the second one I've completely wrecked). Though it won't matter much anyway if the judge takes my license; I have my hearing in about an hour, and I have so many speeding tickets that this might be it - maybe I can just bring my Z hood ornament with me when I ride the bus and maybe I can still look cool.

So youre the reason why my insurance went up 400 bucks more a year since I bought it when the 350z was released.

Yup, that's right. I am a menace to the roads. Although this is the only accident that was my fault (not including the smash on the passenger side when I hit a pole pulling out of a parking spot). Have no fear however, because I heard yesterday that my license will soon be officially suspended. I think when I get it back I will trade in the Z and get me a nice safe volvo. Good thing I opted not to include those side airbags, eh? I am hoping to stop by the body shop tomorrow and get some good pictures of the wreck if they haven't started fixing it yet. In all seriousness now however...at what point do you know if the car should be totalled? I am very concerned that this accident (damage to the driver's side door, and likely the suspension components) will never really be able to be repaired right and the car won't handle the same. I am almost certain that there will need to be frame-straightening. Forget the fact that the car's value is shot - will I notice the difference when it is all done?

That sucks, I was just kidding about my last post but the rates has been going up since a lot of the younger guys can afford to buy this car too. There has been a lot of totaled Zs in 2004 and more than 87% of the drivers were under 25 years old. So us good drivers get to pay for it in the long run, but I just have my car setup for weekend only insurance since I don't drive it that often any ways...but its a pain to call in when I want to drive it on the week days.

I really wish I could use this Z as a weekend car - but unfortunately its my daily driver, and it shows. Many of the scrapes and scratches would have been avoided. Anyway, good news is that the damage turned out to only be a little over 5k (just for this accident, not including the other 2!), and it looks like the body shop is going to be able to make it like new. I am going to have every imperfection fixed, and then am going to have them apply the veilside-like graphics I bought. I think I've chickened out on trying a new color though, because that would be more expensive - I don't think the whole car needs to be repainted, but I am going to ask tomorrow when I show up to take some pics. Stay tuned, if you care! Thanks for all of the info, Rayden. Dunno how you could get bored of that car though, it looks pimp!

Angry Pumpkin Z / My Crash

So, if I decided to repaint the whole bloody thing a new color, how much should I expect to pay?

Anyway, thought I would post some pics for y'all - this is the second Z I've had (totalling the first), and my 3rd accident this year, not including the pole I hit all by myself. Sigh. I think I need to drive around in a bubble. Good thing I didn't opt for those side airbags, eh? Speaking of which; I've heard those are a waste - is this true for this vehicle?

Here's a shot of the latest wreck:

Here are some more pics of the latest wreckage

Here's a shot of the last wreck when I totaled it:

3rd accident in a year??? My friend, sorry to say but you are a menace! (unless of course 2 were not your fault)

Maybe its time for an SUV

Only 1 was my fault, and it was a messed up traffic law that I wasn't aware of that was the real culprit. The speeding tickets - were my fault - and after attending traffic survival school (it was mandatory, not a ploy to lower insurance) with all of the drunk drivers and degenerates, I have no other option, and will be takin the bus before too long. I can't blame it all on the Z - I got just as many tickets (well, maybe a few less) when I drove a ford ranger. I have a Valentine One permanently installed too and I still get nailed all the time.

I do feel your pain though. Didnt mean to be harsh. Just be more patient on the road. Lack of patience leads to carelessness which leads to accidents (quoth Yoda)

Stay out of trouble so you can keep that Z.

I had originally wanted to keep it forever; when I was done driving it everyday I wanted to throw a cover over it and keep it for my kids - but now that it has been in so many accidents, I don't know anymore if it is worth keeping. Such a shame. My body shop says that the frame isn't really damaged because the accident was high enough, and they should be able to fix it good as new.

Totally unrelated - but does anyone know what it should cost to apply graphics? I bought the ones shown here: http://adamfialkov.com/staging/veilside_graphics.jpg
