Default To Grille or not to Grille...........?

I'm installing my APS TT kit in my Redline Roadster next week and thinking about removing the factory grille completely. Anybody care to share their thoughts? I already bought and re-sold a Stillen grille. I even considered the chrome door edging over the factory grille.

Okay, let me have it! Is cutting the grille out too "ricey"?

Thanks all,

Bruce

That's one thing I dont like about the FI kits, they replace the stock grill. I like the grill the way it is. However, having a TT, I guess you shouldn't complain. I just have a thing about making the front of my Z look like the mouth of a Transformer robot.

I'm sure if I had a TT kit, I'd be willing to make my grill look like a robot mout too.

Faluzure-
I haven't read the APS install manual yet, but I don't think I "have to" remove the grille as part of the install. I've seen pictures of 350Zs with intercoolers mounted behind the grille. I'm wondering which way looks best. Maybe I should have posted on the FI forum to see if airflow is an issue?

Yeah I'd do that (ask the FI people). I'd love to have FI in my car (but besides the money), I hate how a new chickenwire-type grill goes in front of the massive intercooler.

Lemme know their responses, as I'm interested as well (or link the new thread here).

Default Ksheps' grille

I think Ksheps' car was one of the examples I spotted previously. I have to wonder if some people aren't cutting out their grilles to showcase their intercooler.......?

I figured it would be a lot more fun to be "stealthy" and not advertise what's in the car. I'll post on the FI forum and see if it has anything at all to do with I/C clearance or airflow. I'm thinking it's all aesthetics.

i Like the way TT cars look without a grill, i think they look bad a$$. As to looking stealthy is good sometime but I would rather show what I have.

my 2 cents: my car is a daily driver with an aftermarket grille... my car is lowered and the grille has a bunch of dings and such from debret (sp?) on the road. So I would say unless the intercooler can take a beating from the road I would try to protect it. But then again I don't have an intercooler... I get pulled over to much with just a stock car.
