Default NEW Aluminum Pieces

Alright guys,
I have made a new product for my Z and thought you might be interested. I have been trying to do some interior touches with the middle dash vents in aluminum and plan on getting Bat’s overlays for the gauge pods, BUT I always wanted to bring attention to the vents INSIDE the door opening with the “Z” on them. So, I drew up this ridiculously elaborate template and went down to a local shop to have them insert it into a CAD program, then took it to another shop to have them Laser cut it (not water jet, actual laser). This gives a perfect smooth edge with no burrs to sand. Then I used some scotch brite to brush it and give the stainless look to match our interior pieces, and then a coat of clear to protect. I used .032 thick aluminum for strength yet still slightly bendable to form to the vent piece. I have the prototype done, but it is still in the shop waiting to see if I want anymore cut. I spent a hefty sum doing all of this, but had heard a couple of you mentioning wanting this piece so thought I’d give it a shot initially just to see if I could do it. VERY PLEASED!!!! I can get pictures in the next couple of days but wanted to see if this is something you might want me to duplicate for you?? Please pm me if interested. BTW I’m not sure on the final price yet, but think I could get them to you in the $37 SHIPPED range (lower 48) based on initial computer CAD costs. Thanks Guys…Below is a link of the pic (2nd post down, if someone here could post that picture here I would really appreciate it) of the piece I’m talking about with the Z painted silver, I tried this as well but just wasn’t happy with it, THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT, just trying to show the piece I am talking about. The aluminum will cover the entire “teardrop” shape piece…PM me if interested!! Thanks!!
Mike

Again THIS IS NOT a picture of my aluminum pieces, simply a picture of the piece I am covering in aluminum. I am sure all of you know what Im talking about just wanted to clarify in case I wasnt clear. These pieces cover the entire "teardrop" shape piece in the door jam. In this particular picture, you see the "Z" is silver, this is from me painting it. It looked alright for the first few days, but kinda cheap imo and it rubbed off quickly.....SO, I will have ACTUAL installed pictures by fryday or Saturday, as the shop who did the laser cutting for me is about 40 minutes away and wont have time to get there until then. I will keep you all posted. Thanks!!

Here is the picture you were refering to (picture by MGL). I went ahead and circled the vent. Now hurry and send me pictures of the actual "cover" so I can post them for everyone to see!

IMHO... Just paint the Z!. No problem...still looks as good as ever! I used Testors model silver paint! I rather spend the $$$$ on alumn. AC vent covers that I have coming soon from steve.uk I'm leaving now for a vacation but here's mine...
