do i need a new quarter panel?
hey guys,
yesterday i was driving in my parkign structure and i had to get really close to the pillar because there was a car going the opposite direction. anyway, due to the fact that our rear quarter panels stick out pretty far, i ended up clipping it. now what was once semi-round is flat.
so now im wondering...do you guys think i need to replace the entire quarter panel?
how much am i looking to pay here?
i don't know very much about body repairs and i want to be armed with as much knowledge as possible as when i go in to ask somebody i wont get taken.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks!

Post some pix. I'm a claims adjuster & will be able to tell you if it's repairable or not. A lot of shops usually don't like to replace a 1/4 panel because it involves cutting it out & welding a new 1/4 in.

what he said ^^^^^
I got hit on my rear quarter and I told the body shop that i wanted a new panel, but they told me that they would have to cut out the fender and weld in a new one. Basically they would have to dismantle the car and there would be a chance that the body panels wouldn't align as well as before. So they just fixed the panel and it came out great.
The front fenders ae replacable though.
