Default Side Emblems / Dealership Logo Removal Help

What is the safest way to remove the side "Z" emblems? I've heard of heating the area with a hair dryer until the glue melts and the emblem can be pulled off. Is this safe for the surrounding paint? The reason I want to do this in the first place is that the emblems as purchased are scratched up so I have ordered replacements.

Also, the dealership put their logo sticker nonsense on the back of the car. How can this be removed? Since it's been there for 27000 miles already will the paint look noticeably BAD (faded)?

I'm putting new emblems in where the old ones were. Same exact part, just new and unscratched.

Use dental wire or fishing wire.
