Default Two Dings - car less than a month old

One reason I was reluctant to get back into a sports car - having to be so freaking **** about it. My wife used to get so tired of it when I owned a Porsche. LOL

Last Friday I was driving to the gym and I heard something hit the side of my car. I was praying it was a rock in the wheel well but after carful inspection, I saw a BB size ding and tiny, tiny scratch in the driver's door. I have no idea what hit it or how. It did reinforce my decision to get white over black though.

I walked out to my car yesterday and noticed a tiny ding in the passenger door. I think it happened last week but I never noticed it. It was so small you could only see it in right light.

Today I just couldn't take it. I went to see this guy that has removed dings from some of my other cars. He is the best ding guy I've ever seen or used. He charged me $80 for both of them. Now my car is back to looking brand new. Hell, I don't even have my permanent tags yet!

BTW, if you live in Atlanta, be sure to look up David at Dents and Dings in Roswell.

There are a couple of MINOR inperfections that were there when I bought the car. Only I see em though. My one ding was a good one. (Car door thrown in a parking lot). Had to pull that one out. You do notice EVERYTHING when you wash you car. Right there.

I feel your pain. I have an even better story. When I first bought the car and pulled it off the lot to drive it home, an 18-wheeler pulled in front of me and tore up my front bumper with gravel. I slammed on the brakes and jumped into the other lane. The damage was already done. Within the first month of ownership, my car was hailed on while I was out and about.

Darn it. This past Wednesday I ran over some crap from an accident and had some minor scratches on my front bumper. Most of the damage was taken from the clear bra. Oh well.

I had my first ding the first week i got my Z. I now have a total of 3 very unnoticable dings. All my friends tell me they cant see the dings but everytime i wash my car I want to cry. Ill probably get them pulled out soon, i know a guy who will do all 3 for $110.

I just had 2 pulled out, gotta love Dent Wizard those guys are masters of their art. Cost me $100 he cut me a deal, but usually its like $99 a panel + more if they have to drill a hole to get in better, don't worry they plug them back up.

my car has a small scratch on the roof from a flying rock thats about 1cm long and pretty hard to noticed. There is also a tiny black dot on the bottom panel on the driver side not sure what that is. Other than that its just the abuse to my bumper which has a few rock chips (who's doesn't really) and the bottom is scrapped a little but I can only see that when I park on a hill. I also put some scrapes on the bumper that I touched up myself... I did an ok job on the touchup you can tell if you know where to look but you can't see it form 5-6 feet away. If I decide to keep the car for a long time I will most likely re shoot the bumper to fix all its problems then get a clear bra put on ASAP.

depends on the company but usually around $75. They don't pull them out, they push them out.

I'm glad you had good experience with them, because I wouldn't hit a dog in the a$$ with them in GA. I know several people who have used them in Atlanta and have had terrible results.

most of the dings on a car happen during the first week. --> Murhpy's law

my number of dings is as follow

one ding first day (hit fender with bicycle pedal)
another ding first week (hit unleashed stray dog)
No dings for past 2 years after that.

Not driving the car the first week doesn't count BTW... also, the more carefull you are the first week, the more dings you gonna do

I also have about 100 rock scratches front bumper and hood.

I feel your pain, I truly do. Shopping centre car parks are the worst. what makes it even worse is that they make the standard car space as something like 2.2m wide (i thought standed should be 2.5m) and then you see these great big 4x4's come in and park next to you! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have this nasty habit of taking up two spaces! hehehehehehehe

you guys taking up 2 parking spaces will get your car keyed... seriously, that's kinda jerky don't you think? even if it's in a totall empty lot, some people LOVE to park as close as possible to your car just to annoy the driver.

The Z isn't a 150k supercar with a 8k paint job

you guys are like girls saying "oh I broke a nail" only it's with your car

get over it, take it like a man.

You can always just not drive the car. Then you'll never get scratches or dings. You can tell people it's your giant 3200lb paper weight. Don't wanna lose your papers now
