I purchased the chrome door edge guard at an Auto Discount in Jupiter, Fl. The kit was for a SUV or truck 120 inch roll. $6.99. I plan to go with a brushed alum. when a nice custom made is available.

Default DYI custom grille thanks to Pitlizard

I went to an auto parts store and purchased four 33 in. chrome door edge guards made by Champ and glued them on with clear clue. I cut one of the strips in three sections where the towing slot is so it can slide out. They costed about $10.00, it looks really good and I happy I did it. It looks much better than that big black hole in front of the car. This will due until an aftermarket grille becomes availible. I got the idea from Pitlizard on this forum, thanks alot Pitlizard this was agreat idea you came up with.
These door trim parts were hard to find here in Tampa,FL, most of the auto parts stores I went to sold these small 27 in. ones which are not long enough and to thin.

Can you make closer pictures? I'd like to see the details. What was profile of that door guards?
Looks sweet I'd love to put it onto my grille.

Im getting fed up with this grill stuff. I spent hours today driving around looking for that stuff. Either a) they only had molding or b) they only had the short strips.

Couple years ago i used this on my truck and fount it EVERYWHERE. Now I cant find it anywhere. I did find a tiny roll of it for like 15bux. It would have taken 3 just to finish the car. GIMME A BREAK!

ERrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You guys SURE pepboys sells this shlt?

I bought two packs of these at Pep Boys. I believe they were around $5.99 a piece.

Question

Do they make this stuff in a brushed aluminum finish to match the door handles?

If they do, I couldn't find it. That's why I bought the black ones and spray painted them silver.

Pitlizard, excellent idea. Thanks tremendously...really gives it a nice look. I couldn't resist trying it on my Redline. I cut the top one for the tow hook but think I'll replace it with single strip.

Pics didn't turn out great but here's a look.

Pitlizard, another happy camper here. I installed the chrome on my horizontal slats only and left 2 1/8" space on the ends...really sharpens the look.

Down side...my thumbs still hurt from the install.

As soon as I get a digital camera, I'll post pics, but I think with all of the ones above, y'all know what it looks like.

Thanks again Pitlizard.

Default Grill Enhancement - Better Pics

Very happy overall with the grill solution thought of by Pitlizard. Planning to redo as soon as my thumbs heal. ;-) The fit is ok but I want it perfect.

Default Looks Great on the Redline

Altima, your Redline looks great and for the cost I sure more will be trying this simple modification. Oh, the thumbs take about a week to get the feeling back into them. I used a wood seam roller for wallpaper to press the edging on, helped to save the thumbs..
