Default Tein Hood Damper Picts.

No more hood post! Don't know why Nissan doesn't put these on from the factory?
All the time I spend under the hood, working around the rod/ hood prop, I thought these were a good idea. Work great for stock hood, small cuts made in right and left resin covers so pistons sit recessed. Paid around 115.00

The reason Nissan didn't put those on from the factory is because they wanted customers to feel how light is hood is.

Do the dampers open the hood up more or less than with the stock hood prop?

I thought you had to remove the covers (battery and fluid) after hood dampers install for it to close properly???

Please post a close-up pic where you had to cut up the plastic around the batt/brak covers. Thanks!

Default Tein hood info

The hood opens about the same 38" from bumper to hood lip.
Hood closes great with the resin cover cut to fit pistons.
Here are some picts. of cover mods.

Ok, so with those you can't let the hood close on its own. However, isn't it bad to press down on aluminum hoods?

It still closes on it's own, soon as pistons let off, drop, (about 8"-10") then BLAM! it shuts!! YA.

These are so nice, hood stayed open durning all my dyno runs also.
If you plan on spending any time under the hood, I think these are a must have for less than 130.00!!

I have them on mine, but I did not modify it...so yes the side of the hood sticks up higher than the fenders & it looks kinda f***** up. Good looking piece of work. What did you use for the cut out??

The cuts are real easy if you take your time, I took a piece of steel chalk, put a point on it. Close the hood as far as you can, and still get your hand in, with the chalk trace around the pistons, marking on the resin covers.
Remove the covers from car. Get a steel straight edge, new razor blade and start cuts using edge to stay just outside chalk marks, just enough to scribe the plastic cover. Keep making cuts until you break through. clean up cuts with fine tooth file. Take your time, and for Gods sake don't drink before doing this!!!
