Default Poll: Should You Get Spoiler or No???????????

Should I get the spoiler or no? Should I get the spoiler aftermarket from dealer or get the aerodynamics package direct when I get my car which comes w/ the front spoiler and rear spoiler? Does it rub on curbs - I'm used to driving a lifted Jeep so it's a big enough adaption already. If you have a picture of the car w/ and w/o spoiler that would be great - they are always from different angles and I can't tell if I like it or don't like it. Sometimes it looks out of place and ricey like wow what is that little plastic thing doing on the trunk but other times (especially side profile) it looks nice in pictures. What do you think? I guess I probably can't afford to get the aero package anyway so I was hoping for some advice on whether to get it or not or wait and get the spoiler later but i guess its like 400 for the spoiler from dealer maybe and only like 50 bucks more for the aero package so i don't know...

is it better to get the aero package now or just wait til after i have my car and buy the spoiler? which is cheaper? also, i don't want anything lowering my ground clearance any more than it already is so that front thing might not be good...

I know you might not like wings, but please, take a look at the NISMO wing. It's so beautiful. Just take a look.

i like it but 1) can't afford it 2) it doesn't do anything for the car for me except add weight so i don't want to get that. its a ricer option for me b/c i don't have a downforce problem and i am not racing my Z on the track and don't need a huge wing. does anyone have 2 good pics of a Z with and a Z without the spoiler? my question was whether i should get aero package, get spoiler for cheaper somehow, or wait and get it aftermarket...

any comments from the people who said the spoiler looks horrible?

Get the aero kit dealer installed.. or as part of your ordered configuration. I got the original spoiler installed by the dealer seperate from my car order.

I was undecided about it before I saw it in person.. once you see it with and without.. you'll want it immediatly!

It definatly finishes the rear of the car.. it looks too slope-ee without it. Its a good balence between discrete, and gaudy.

cool. well how much is it to get just the spoiler from the dealer (ballpark) versus ordering the aero package? i don't want the front spoiler thing b/c it is just another thing to scrape but if it is the same price as the stealership would charge for the spoiler after getting the car, i might as well get the aero package, eh?

I paid $400 to have the spoiler w/o chin thingie. Figured since the aero package was 499, and wasn't charged extra for installation/etc... it wasn't that bad a deal.

there is also the theory that the aero kits are slowing cars down at the ports...

Mine was waiting at the port for a DB kit. I had my sales person delete the option and get the car to me. I would not have it yet if I waited, I don't think. I definetely will get the kit though.

The aero package is subtle but nice. The front is basically invisible but the back looks low key and classy. I don’t like the Nismo wing at all.

I’ll be having it installed in the spring. I’ve got pictures of my car without aero side by side with an identical Z with the package. Unfortunately when the pictures are reduced to 800 X 400 you can’t really see much.

I like the wing but I cant get over the fact that it probably costs Nissan $10 to make, and they charge $500 for it.

I really like the Nismo spoiler so I would consider that my choice if it is priced reasonably when it gets to the US (I'm not paying for international shipping on it... I can wait).

Only problem I have is I really like the Nismo spoiler, but am so-so about the body kit. Anyone out there that can PhotoShop me a pic of the Nismo spoiler by itself onto a Z?

I posted a phtoshop i did with the spoiler sans body kit...search for it.

As far as the OEM spoiler goes...it looks great either way. You have to see it in person, it looks totaly different (better). So if it offers aerodnamic benefits, hell go fot it as it doesnt really make the car look much worse or better, just differet.

Get the front spoiler, I inslaed it myself in 10 min, and it actually seemed to make a small difference performance wise. Car rides flatter and slightly more stable.

I disagree. The spoiler does nothing for me whatsoever. When sitting next to a 350 without one, you can see how the spoiler makes the car look stubby in the rear. It takes a nice sleek looking rear end and chops it off.

To each their own.. I like how it breaks up the rear IMO. Its also why I like the door handles.. gives some contrast to a large section which otherwise is pretty flat.

I love the swoopin lines of the Z.. I just think the spoiler gives it a lil meaner look

Like TZ my car was stuck at the port waiting on the aero before they finally just shipped it without. So now I'm just waiting on the dealer to get it and ship it to me. I wasn't real keen on it at first but its definitely grown on me when I look at pics.
I hope they aren't shipping aeros to people who are ordering them after the fact instead of shipping them to people who have been waiting.

Love the rear spoiler.... the chin spoiler you can do without....

OEM rear spoiler defines and exsentuates where the Z's *** begins!
