I found something to make everyone forget their hatred and enjoy life and laugh a little. Forgive the guy for his ignorance and "guy" , forgive them for bashing you. Can't we all just get along ? heheheee

There is quite a bit of real sponsored cars on this website, and I would love to hear the owners story on how they started, how much did they spend and how much did the sponsor pitched in.

Just send me $200 (more powerful than the SCP's $88 program), and within 4 weeks, I will send you back a check for $50,000! You do believe me don't you?

Not true! There is actually quite a bit of information posted by several people that have been sponsored. Trust me, I know. If anyone thinks it's as easy as sending in $88 dollars to some scam site then you're fooling yourself and you deserve to get screwed like OUTBURST. If it were as easy as that, everyone would be sponsored. There are few things in life that are obtained without some effort and/or a bit of luck.

That said, here is a link to AEM's website in regard to sponsorships (they'll probably kill me for posting this ) that does give some additional "worthwhile" information on the subject:

OK, now that I've provided some useful information, can we please get back to the entertainment portion of this thread?

Now that will take sometime. I started with a 1993 300zx. I took it to some shows and was asked to be in a crew or team. After joining Team16niss I set back and learned the right and wrong ways to show a car. I also learned just how to put together a proposal and how to get that information to the right people. The good thing about Team16niss is that we are Nationally recognized as a professional show car crew. And yes there is a difference but I am not going to get into that right now. I was also taken under the "wing" of a good friend. Wayne used to run the HIN shows and with his guidance I changed to the 350z. I did this because it was the best platform to have at the time and because I just love the Z car. Through Wayne's help I was able to get some sponsors that I would never be able to get otherwise. You see my name was not known in the industry but Wayne had the trust of some of the right people. Although Wayne helped introduce me to the right people it was up to me to follow through with the sponsorship agreements. If I did not it would make me, Wayne, and Team16niss look bad. After I got a few good sponsors and they saw that I would ALWAYS make good on my word they started to help me (YES "help" is the right word. I did not say "GOT") with other companies. They would give me the names and contact info and would even drop a good word for me. This helped me a lot but I also went out on my own looking for sponsorships. One thing that helped me the most was debuting the car at the 2004 Las Vegas SEMA show in the Meguiar’s booth. I have to thank Amy Hoffman and Jon Pek for that. They put their faith in me since the car did not get out of the paint shop until the last possible day we could leave for Vegas. It meant a long 26-hour drive striate from Houston to Vegas only stopping for food and gas. From that point on I have worked hard at keeping good relations with my sponsors and others that I have done work with.

The best advice I could give anyone is to work hard and always keep your word. Your word is worth more then money. Don’t talk if you don’t know what you’re talking about. It is better to stay quiet and have people assume you know what you’re doing then to open your mouth and let them know that you haven’t a clue. Watch people that know what they’re doing and ask them good questions. Most importantly, don’t expect anything to be given to you. Oh and also, if it is sounds to good to be true it probably is.

just goes to show you how stupid people can get sometimes. I use to get all riled up all the time, but not anymore man, I just live life to the fullest and have fun, and try not to argue and bicker my whole life. I hope everybody else can do the same.

Peace to everybody man.

That is the hardest part and the part will decide whethere you will get sponsor or not. In addition, i think it's also depend on the car we have. Z is not hot as 2 years ago. On top of it, i don't think anyone in here would get 100% sponsor. Most sponsor price like wholesale price in which we can sometime bargain with the vendor here to get and no sticker whatsoever. For example, the last time i talked to Lauren Ho at Rotora, his partial sponsor price around 2K for the 14" 6 piston while i got it from vendor here for $1950.

IMO, work my a.s.s off and "sponsor" for myself. No string attach.

Yea, I think you will start to see more and more companies get out of doing sponsorships. I think you will see the companies change to other ways to get the product out. Like company owned cars or even a group of companies that get together and build one car using their products. This way they don't have to worry about giving product away and not getting any return on their investment.

+1 I believe in that mantra also. But I still give props to those who were able to get help in the build up of their Z.

wow this is a solid comment (rare on this thread) This is exactly what I agree with, I've had friends that were sponsored, with show quotas it turned out to be more trouble then the benifits showed. Now we do our own thing, have no stickers that acts as goddy handcuffs, and don't obsess over missing shows. After reading this thread I'm now going to paint my car flat pink, put animal print fabric on my hood, and paint my wheels green...why because i can without coporate gilt... late
